It is with great sadness that I have to report the recent passing of Alasdair Cockburn (Coll 1959-64). Alasdair had been a partner at PWC and was a keen golfer who regularly represented OGGS. He attended its events over many years, organising its team entries for, in particular, the annually held Anniesland Trophy at Denham and the Loretto School Foursomes at West Sussex. A past captain, chairman and president of Hankley Common Golf Club as well as being a member of Prestwick Golf Club, Alasdair was a steady golfer who was a formidable opponent in matchplay, where his well-honed short game came to the fore.
Hugely liked and well respected, Alasdair maintained his close relationship and affection for his Scottish links through both his memberships of Prestwick and the Caledonian Club, where he was very active.
Our condolences go to his wife, Carole, his children, Iain and Gail, the rest of his family and his many friends throughout the golfing community and elsewhere
